William J. O’Mahony, a partner in the firm, is a talented and accomplished litigator.  His practice includes all aspects of litigation and consulting in the firm’s Insurance, Business & Complex Litigation, and Trial Practice groups.

Prior to joining Quadrino Schwartz, Mr. O’Mahony spent the first decade of his legal career representing insurance carriers and their insureds in a wide variety of complex insurance coverage, insurance bad faith, professional liability, product liability, and general liability claims. He has lectured and authored instructional materials on Insurance Law for New York State Bar Association and other Continuing Legal Education Programs. Mr. O’Mahony has been inducted as a lifetime member of the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum. The Forum acknowledges excellence in advocacy by lawyers throughout the United States and is limited to attorneys who have won multi-million dollar verdicts, awards, and settlements.

Mr. O’Mahony is a 1993 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and received his bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Notre Dame in 1990. He is admitted to practice in New York, New Jersey, Indiana, the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, the District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, the District of New Jersey, the Northern District of Indiana, and the Western District of Michigan. He is also a current member of the New York State Bar Association’s Committee on Professional Discipline, The American Association For Justice’s Insurance Law Section, Bad Faith Insurance Law Litigation Group, and Health and Disability Litigation Group, The New York State Trial Lawyer’s Association, The New York State Bar Association’s Commercial Litigation and Torts, Insurance, & Compensation Law Sections, and The American Health Lawyer’s Association.

Prior to joining Quadrino Schwartz, Mr. O’Mahony was an associate with a large national law firm where he was responsible for the investigation and defense/prosecution of complex corporate and commercial claims, including contract, unfair competition, trade secret and restrictive covenant litigation, corporate dissolution proceedings, and the defense of professional liability claims. Mr. O’Mahony also practiced in South Bend, Indiana, where he handled the defense of insureds in product liability, general liability and employment discrimination claims and represented insurance carriers in insurance coverage and bad Forum acknowledges faith litigation.
