  A Manhattan law firm has hired Quadrino Schwartz in connection with the departure of a partner in the firm and the pursuit of over $1 million in outstanding receivables.  The receivables are owed by an insurance company that received services rendered by the departing partner.

  The former owner of a medical supply company has retained Quadrino Schwartz to defend him in a lawsuit.  The purchaser of the stock of the client's company is seeking indemnification for corporate liabilities to the Internal Revenue Service for back taxes.  The dispute centers upon representations made in the stock purchase agreement and interprestation of its provisions.

  A mortgage company has hired Quadrino Schwartz to sue a title insurer in connection with a series of real estate scams. In prior litigation, Quadrino Schwartz succeeded in proving the existence of an elaborate scheme involving forged mortage documents, bogus real estate appraisals, and the "flipping" of properties to fictitious purchasers at inflated prices.  This latest project is geared toward obtaining an additional successful recovery for the client, a regional mortgage lender.

  A gold dealer subjected to a fraudulent loan scam has retained Quadrino Schwartz to defend him in proceedings in federal court. The case involves fraud and Civil RICO issues and is a hard fought battle geared toward preserving the client's assets from attack.

• Partnership Dispute:  Plastic Surgery Practice

  February 06, 2007

  A plastic surgeon who departed from a plastic surgical group has hired Quadrino Schwartz to obtain a full and fair purchse of his interest in the practice and a surgical center owned by the partners.  The litigation involves a shareholder's derivative action by the client regarding diversion of funds from the surgical center and breaches of fiduciary duty in connection with the distribution of profits.  

• Unlawful Lease Termination

  January 15, 2007

  Quadrino Schwartz has commenced a Fair Housing Act and Civil Rights Act lawsuit against an apartment complex for terminating a lease for improper reasons.  The client was subjected to discrimination and is seeking a legal declaration against the owner, an injunction, and damages.
