Renowned trial lawyer Bruce Barket has joined Quadrino Schwartz as the leader of its White Collar / Criminal Defense & Investigations Group and as co-leader of the firm’s Trial Practice Group. Barket is well known for his successful handling of high-profile cases and numerous trial victories. He will represent individuals and businesses facing federal and state offenses and conduct trials in complex civil matters.
Bruce has been frequently covered by the national media, including CNN, USA Today, Court TV, Fox News, The New York Times, and PBS’ Frontline. He has won numerous acquittals in high-profile cases involving such crimes as securities fraud, murder, and racketeering and obtained verdicts in civil cases seeking high dollar outcomes. Through grit, tenacity, and the use of his courtroom skills, he has put together an impressive string of trial victories that span two decades.
Nathaniel Burney and Founding Partner Richard Quadrino are the other members of the White Collar / Criminal Defense & Investigations Group. They will also serve with Mr. Barket in the Trial Practice Group along with the other trial team members in the firm.
Mr Burney is seasoned criminal defense lawyer who handles federal and state cases and represents clients in ongoing investigations. He has been in private practice for a number of years after having served in the Rackets Bureau and as a Special Narcotics Prosecutor in the Manhattan DA’s Office. He obtained his law degree, cum laude, from the Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C. and his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia.
As a prosecutor, Nathan was the first to indict and convict a labor union at the state level. He single-handedly ran the investigation that ultimately took down a capo of the country’s largest Mafia family, his organized crime associates, and the entire leadership of a corrupted labor union.
