New York Chiropractic Council Invites Richard Quadrino to Speak on Health Insurance Audits
Mr. Quadrino appeared before the New York Chiropractic Council to speak on the topic of health plan and insurer audits that seek reimbursement of monies paid to medical providers. The topic is of growing popularity due to concerns about stepped up efforts by insurers, health plans, and government payors seeking refunds from medical providers.
The presentation covered issues regarding a recently-passed law in New York that provides some limited protection against audits by health plans and insurers. Mr. Quadrino explored the vast differences between the legal rights between in-network providers, who have signed contracts with potentially unfavorable language, and out-of-network providers who have no contractual relationship with the health plans at issue. Mr. Quadrino also explored the vast array of legal rights under ERISA that can be employed by medical providers in the audit context.
The seminar, which focused on insurance reimbursement and related issues, was well attended and the ensuing discussions were lively and informative.
