Mr. Barket is best known for a number of cases that have garnered national media attention on various outlets such as Court TV, CNN, The New York Times and USA Today. His reputation for outstanding results has been enhanced by his uncanny ability to successfully re-open “cold cases” and obtain justice where others lawyers could not. One recent example is the Martin Tankleff double homicide case in which Mr. Barket and a team of attorneys freed a man from jail after nearly 20 years of incarceration by establishing that murder of his parents was committed by others.
The Group litigates and takes to trial complex cases of all kinds, involving everything from securities fraud, drug offenses and bribery, to murder, racketeering and embezzlement. Clients also retain the attorneys in the Group to handle investigations, subpoenas, grand jury presentations, and FBI and other government interviews. The attorneys in the Group have a tremendous success rate in thwarting or shutting down prosecutions before they result in an arrest or indictment.
Richard Quadrino and Nathan Burney are members of the Practice Group, both having served as prosecutors with long track records of success. Mr. Quadrino won numerous trials as a prosecutor in the Nassau County District Attorneys Office and Mr. Burney successfully handled high profile organized crime and narcotics cases in the Manhattan District Attorney's Office. Mr. Burney was the first New York State prosecutor to take down a capo of the country's largest Mafia family, his organized crime associates, and the entire leadership of a corrupted labor union. As a defense attorney, Nathan brings those skills and experiences to the table in vigorously pursuing the rights of the firm's clients.
