Dismissal of Domestic Violence and Contempt of Court Charges

A client was arrested for multiple domestic violence charges and later arrested for contempt of court for violating the court’s order of protection issued as a result of the first set of charges. Conducting a thorough investigation, Ms. Marion uncovered evidence exonerating the client. She then prepared an extensive memorandum for the Assistant District Attorney, which included the results of Ms. Marion’s investigation. Based on that memo, the Assistant District Attorney dismissed both cases outright, something that rarely happens in the District Court of Nassau County, New York.
