No True Bill Obtained for Woman Charged with Drug Smuggling

Amy Marion received a No True Bill for a client charged with smuggling drugs into this country. The client, a poor uneducated woman, had left her family and children behind in her native country. She was told that if she did not smuggle in the drugs, her family’s safety would be at risk. Upon extensive counseling and advice, Ms. Marion prepared her client to testify before the grand jury where she obtained a No True Bill – a grand jury vote not to indict -- and all of the charges were dismissed.
