Prison Abuse Settlement in Excess of $1 Million for Immigration Detainee Clients

Amy Marion successfully litigated a multi-plaintiff prison abuse case on behalf of federal immigration detainees. The detainees were in the custody of the federal immigration authorities yet were being housed at a local New Jersey prison pending their detention proceedings. The abuse was perpetuated by local New Jersey prison officials who made the charges and the allegations much more difficult to pursue in the New Jersey courts. Nevertheless, Ms. Marion vehemently pursued the charges of physical and emotional abuse on behalf of these undocumented individuals resulting in a settlement in excess of $1 million for the individual plaintiffs.
