Setting Precedent

Disability insurance companies all over the country have long claimed that they could force a high income individual to work for minimum wage under policies which contain an "any occupation" clause. In a groundbreaking decision in federal court, Quadrino Schwartz convinced the court to require the insurance companies to maintain the policyholder's standard of living. The insurance companies are now compelled to pay benefits if the policyholder can't obtain a job earning an income similar to her prior job.
